May 25, 2015 - Final Email

Hello family!!

It was a really good week! I'm so happy about it :) the Lord blessed us heaps. me as well a lot. I felt completely normal this week. I was talking to Dean and he just said to plan times to think about home stuff. like packing and what not but other than that just focus as much as I can. so thats what I did. and it helped loads!! Dean is the man :)

I learned a good lesson this week though. Planning is soooo important. Out here we have weekly planning and daily planning. We set goals and plan things for each hour of the day. I'll admit I slacked a bit on that. we have some lessons that we get in late from and we just do a quick planning session and prepare for bed... so to all those future missionary's.. read some of chapter 8 of preach my gospel :) haha planning is honestly one of the most important things you can do to give your heart might mind and strength to the lord. get it done!!

Well I would love to leave you guys with my testimony. these last two years have been amazing! I love my mission so much. These last two years have changed my life!! I think about how much i have changed and honestly I just know how good it feels to do what God asks us to do. I know that with everything the Lord asks of us there is a blessing attatched. Nothing that satan gives will last forever, just for a short time. if we are on the Lords side we will not lose!!! I also love how God always gives us a way to get back to him as well. He gives us prophets, scriptures, prayer, church, family, and many more things. the moral of the story is that God is our loving Heavenly Father, thats something I know and something I will always try and help others find.

Joseph Smith was called by God to restore the gospel on the earth again. Thomas S. Monson is the prophet on the earth today. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon and that it is the word of God.

I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true and full gospel of Jesus Christ. and that because it is true we have a way that we can truly be happy in this life.

to say I know is pretty bold :) haha if you dont know for sure read this and find out for yourself. its in the Book of Mormon. Moroni 10:3-5

anyone who is thinking about going on a mission... just do it! you will love it so much :) its not even a sacrifice because of how much we get back.

I love you guys so much!! thank you for all the things you do for me. I really really love you all.

I'll talk to ya soon.

love Elder Wiser

May 18, 2015

Hey Mom,

It is my last week!! what the heck!?

It is going to be so good. This last week was so amazing we have seen some miracles.

I have re-learned some amazing lessons this week. Elder Magda and I have been teaching a man named Dave for a long time. Dave is awesome. He is really intelligent and whenever we go over we always laugh but leave with something to think about. It has been super cool getting to know him. So he is a former investigator of Elders Packer and Sever. Sever is in Palu's group and Packer is about as old as me. He is one of Deans friends so we thought we would stop by. It has been an adventure!! He can think so deep into things I always view as simple it's crazy haha it has helped me dig though. At the beginning he didn't know that God was there... after about two weeks he received and answer that God was there and that he loved him. but he didn't really want to do anything with that. He was just happy knowing God was there... but if God is there that means we need to follow him and we can tap into so much happiness in life.

So last lesson we just got pretty bold... it was so cool to feel the spirit that strong. We just testified about the commandments and everything. It is so powerful to be able to say "I know that is true" and we know it is because God has answered our prayer

We could see the spirit working on him pretty hard,, he had a good time of silence and he finally said.. alright. when can I get baptized? haha!! so he is planning on getting baptised this coming week.. its going to be so cool!!

I had the lesson of being bold reconfirmed this week. This is a scripture I read this morning.

D&C 121:43-44..... dang good :)

 43 Reproving betimes with sharpness, when moved upon by the Holy Ghost; and then showing forth afterwards an increase of love toward him whom thou hast reproved, lest he esteem thee to be his enemy;
44 That he may know that thy faithfulness is stronger than the cords of death.

How are people going to know we know something if we don't stand for it?? if you know that Jesus Christ died for you and everyone then you better stand for it as much as you can..

Its like a little house :)

So here is a little picture I drew the other day... its rubbish but it works haha

So when we discover something we need embrace it, as soon as we have embraced it and seen the blessings ourselves then we will have so much power when we share it! its incredible how the Lord uses us as instruments to help other people.

Someone may be struggling really hard with a trial then one day just realize that God will help them so they when someone in their family has the same thing they can tell them how much God has helped them :)

I think that is so cool!! that means that each one of us is being fine tuned to strengthen our testimony so that we can help others strengthen theirs!!

"As soon as thou art converted strengthen thy brethren":)

I know these things are true!! everyone can find peace in the gospel of Christ. all we need to do is reach out and take his hand.

work on your testimony so that you can share it with others.

because that's why God gives them to us :)

love you guys!! have a great week!!

love Elder Wiser :)

This guy is Elder Allen..... sooooooo I saw him before a meeting and I said hello, and asked "are you one of the senior couples here?" It ends up that he has been on  the missionary board for like fifteen years haha how funny is that? but yeah he spoke for about and hour and it was absolutely brilliant :)

so this is Jodie! and her little son spencer. brother marshall is the member who baptised her :)

This is the suit I got! so I will be coming home with this one a blue one and the one American one I came out with.

lunch with Ossie!

look at the huge truck! that's the first dodge ram that size I have seen since I have been here... I cant believe it was in Bulwell haha I saw a chevy Silverado one time but that's about as big as it gets.

This guy was so so so drunk.... we were going to help him get home but he was going to take the buss haha so he asked us to take some pictures of him and he took off his shirt..... so yeah ha it was funny!! I don't remember that in happening in Utah!!

stone soup...Ii remember the taste I'm sure you made it before mom.. do you remember that? I really like it!

another flower one

Found a bit flower patch! they use them for something but I have no idea what. Mom its your favourite colour!!

We were having a lesson in the park with Patrick and we invited these guys to sit with us haha!!! I think they had just smoked some weed but they sat with us and had a prayer so that's a little memory for them!! ha they said I look like Zack Ephron .. so I guess with a little bit of brain illusion I look like him :) that's good to know!

May 12, 2015

Hey everyone!!

What a crazy week it has been!!

The lord has been blessing us loads!! it has been super cool :)

So one thing this week..I left my camera cord home.. so i'll have to send all the photos next week.

But....... Jodie got baptised this week!! whoooohoooo!!

She is such an amazing woman. From the first time she prayed she felt the spirit.. she said that she felt like she was at home and felt peace.. its so cool how some people are just so ready for the gospel.

The service went good as well. Everything went as planned which was so lucky and we had some food afterward :) Elder Magda made some little pizzas and I made two cakes. I destroyed the cakes haha I didn't put oil in the pan and just threw them in so it was like half a cake... rookie mistake. but at least I wont forget again right? haha

I love those services though. it is a great time to remember your baptism and the things you promised.

Other than that we had a great week of teaching people. Its been so cool lately I feel like all we do is teach. most of the investigators we have right now are down to meet up a few times a week. so we are just trying to balance that and finding. I have found that short bursts of finding is way more effective. but I have really grown to love finding so im cool with it however long we have to do it.

We had a family come to church this week as well. charity and Sergio are the parents and they have three kids. I think they really enjoyed it! having people who teach the kids is really great because the parents can just chill and listen in the classes.

I have really been trying to improve what I learn in church lately. and mom you always used to ttell me to come to church with a question. becaseu if you are looking for something you will find something or listen for something specific. so I have been inviting everyone to do that and I have been doing it myself.

Feeling the spirit is so dang good!! we had a time the other day when Elder Magda and I were teaching different people in the same park. We were teaching a man named akin and these kids that were biking started to yell at us.. I thought they were just taking the mic but it turns out that they actually wanted to learn stuff so I went to teach them and after about twenty min or so I finished and came back...  I walked into Elder Magdas lesson and I got hit with a wave of the spirit! it was crazy! he had just been testifying and it hit my like a wall it was so cool to feel.

The cool part about all of this is. is everyone is able to feel the spirit. anyone can pray:

Dear Heavenly Father.

whatever you want to say.

questions, things that you are grateful for. there is loads of stuff.

in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

That is how God tells us to pray.

by doing that we can communicate with God!

there is loads of ways that God can answer prayers...

what is one that you have seen in your life?

I get answers a lot from the scriptures.

there was one time about a year ago that elder higham and I were serving in Lincoln. we had a pretty rough day! we had been rejected loads and had been rained on... it was tough!!

so I came home and was looking for a bit of upliftment. so I opened the Book of Mormon and did a random flick and pick.

I read alma 26:29-31
29 And we have entered into their houses and taught them, and we have taught them in their streets; yea, and we have taught them upon their hills; and we have also entered into their temples and their synagogues and taught them; and we have been cast out, and mocked, and spit upon, and smote upon our cheeks; and we have been stoned, and taken and bound with strong cords, and cast into prison; and through the power and wisdom of God we have been delivered again.

30 And we have suffered all manner of afflictions, and all this, that perhaps we might be the means of saving some soul; and we supposed that our joy would be full if perhaps we could be the means of saving some.

31 Now behold, we can look forth and see the fruits of our labors; and are they few? I say unto you, Nay, they are many; yea, and we can witness of their sincerity, because of their love towards their brethren and also towards us.

so that helped me reflect on some things... first off I hadn't been spit on or slaped... I wasn't thrown in prison... so I was being a bit of a sissy.

but in the last verses he says look at what we have done? we have had some tough times but look at our labors. our brothers love us and they love each other.

so at the moment it helped me switch my attitude to like ah man this is tough to we are being blessed with the people we have.

if we are grateful it makes everything better.

I know that God will answer our prayers. it has to be something that we actually need. I would love to drive a lambo but I don't think its something you really need haha there is so many examples of that. focouse on need not  want! its hard to find the difference sometimes when we are down here but if we are humble the lord will give us what we need

you need to be willing to act on the answer you get. like asking for direction. wither it be should I get baptised or what school should I go to. if you feel guided somewhere don't fight it. just do it.

always believe in Christ...if we put our faith in Christ we can do all things!!

I know that is true. this is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Christ is at the head of it and Thomas S Monson is at the head of it.

this Church is true!!

I know it!!

well I have two weeks left.. woooo!!! haha its going to be a good week :)

talk to you guys soon!!

love you!

Elder Wiser :)

I have been sitting in appointments when teaching just feeling so comfortable and so good. I'm going to absolutely cram my last few weeks... stay up late and wake up early haha I need to make a list of stuff I gotta do so I don't die my last week but I'm going to work so hard. We have a goal to teach twenty lessons this week.... we have started off pretty good :) im going to leave my mark here!!!! this is going to be great!!

stuff is going good here. we are still teaching quite a bit and we have some awesome awesome investigators... I have really felt the power in bearing testimony this week... it has been insane. just really felt the spirit loads during them. even if people are questioning everything. just hit them with your testimony.

sorry.... this is going to be a little shorter.. there is a theology major dude sitting across from me that wants to talk... flip!!! so its going to be shorter

wo!! BYU-I it is haha flippin heck... I really want to pay for schooling... the thing is is there is a car in there.... lap top.... like... thinking about  it I just want to laugh haha I'm going to be so stressed when I get back... there will be no more buying candy all the time!! I'm going to be counting pennies :) I'm so excited to see what I can do though.... can I take the stresses of life on? I think so! its going to be great :)

so it was Elder Palu's birthday last week  -Tuesday and we had a bbq planned.. then the zone lords called and said we would be getting four other missionarys to sleep over for a huge mission wide meeting we would have the next day!! and all of them were legends!! it was so much fun :)
